JPPM Provides Assistance in Creating Multimedia-based Learning Media for SD IT Al Muhajirin Cilegon

Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is the main alternative that can be done so that the teaching and learning process can continue. Apart from that, students also don't miss much material and lose time to gain knowledge. One of the schools that is also implementing the online learning process is SD IT Al Muhajirin, Cilegon City. In teaching and learning activities, currently we still use Whatsapp Group media due to the unavailability of adequate infrastructure to carry out online learning using e-learning systems.

For this reason, the Research and Community Service Network through PKM activities provides assistance so that the school can utilize existing infrastructure to carry out the online teaching and learning process better. Mentoring activities are carried out online via the Zoom Meeting application with the concept of training and webinars. There were 32 teachers who took part in training activities which were packaged in four meetings. The material presented was about how to develop learning media using smartphone devices. The multimedia concept was raised as the main issue to resolve problems related to creating learning media.

There are four subjects that are samples of the training carried out. The four subjects are English, Islamic religious education, sports and mathematics. The teachers enthusiastically took part in the training even though it was conducted online. The question and answer process also occurs interactively between the presenter and the training participants.

The training event was opened by the Principal of SD IT Al Muhajirin and the chairman of JPPM. In their remarks, both the principal and the head of JPPM both emphasized the importance of learning media that are innovative and creative and can attract students' interest in continuing to learn. Therefore, the training activities carried out are considered to really help teachers learn to create multimedia-based learning media.
