Tangerang Regency – In an effort to increase teacher competency in developing adaptive and interactive digital learning media, the Workshop on Creating Inclusive and Accessible Learning Videos was carried out on Monday, 12 May 2026 at SKH Negeri 01 Tangerang Regency. The activity took place from 10.00 to 15.00 WIB and was attended by around 50 teachers from SKH Negeri 01 Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. The activity was opened by the School Supervisor and Principal of SKH Negeri 01 Tangerang Regency.
This workshop presents practice-based training that focuses on utilizing the Canva application to develop adaptive learning media for students with special needs. The activity was guided byDr. Tb Ai Munandar, S.Kom., M.T, as lecturer in the Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science, Bhayangkara University, Greater Jakarta and Chair of JPPM Banten .
In its implementation, participants not only gain an understanding of the concept, but also immediately practice creating various digital learning media that are simple, interesting, communicative and easy to understand by students in the Special School (SKH) environment. In the initial session, participants received reinforcement regarding the concept of adaptive learning media and the importance of analyzing the needs of students with special needs before preparing learning media. The resource person explained that learning media at SKH must be designed to be flexible, simple, interesting, concrete, safe and easy to understand so that it can help students learn optimally.
Furthermore, activities were directed more towards practical sessions on using Canva as a digital learning development medium. Teachers are trained starting from introducing basic Canva features, using templates, setting text and fonts, using visual elements, uploading images and videos, to creating simple text and image animations. In the practice session, participants directly created various examples of learning media such as flashcards, visual posters, simple LKPD, object recognition media, and animation-based interactive learning videos. Teachers are also taught how to design learning media that is friendly for students with special needs by using appropriate colors, clear images, simple text, and not excessive animation.
One of the sessions that most attracted participants' attention was the practice of creating interactive learning videos using Canva. In this practice, participants create learning videos with the theme of introducing fruit complete with animated text, voice narration, visual effects and simple transitions. Participants also practiced techniques for recording sound directly in Canva and creating text animations to increase the attractiveness of learning media. The enthusiasm of the participants looked very high during the activity. The teachers actively try various Canva features, discuss media designs that suit students' needs, and share experiences with each other in class learning. The direct practical approach applied in this workshop makes it easier for participants to understand and develop learning media independently.
Through this activity, it is hoped that SKH Negeri 01 Tangerang Regency teachers will be able to increase their creativity and digital skills in preparing learning media that are more adaptive, inclusive and interactive. Apart from that, this workshop is also part of efforts to support the transformation of technology-based learning in special education environments so that the learning process becomes more interesting, meaningful and appropriate to the needs of students.
