JPPM Holds Technical Meeting Preparing for National Collaborative PkM "Gen Z is Smart, Literate and Competitive"

Serang, 23 October 2026 – The Research and Community Service Network (JPPM) held a National Collaborative Community Service Tutor (PkM) Technical Meeting on Friday, 23 October 2026, at 18.30–20.00 WIB online via Zoom Meeting. This meeting was attended by 22 tutor lecturers from 11 universities in Indonesia.

This technical meeting is the preparation stage for PkM activities with the theme "Smart Gen Z: Digital, Financial, Language and Health Literacy for Competitive Students". This activity is being organized by JPPM with the support of the Bhamana Aryasuta Parahita Foundation and will be held online on 14–28 November 2026, targeting secondary school students. The activity was opened by Munandar, as chairman of JPPM and initiator of the activity. In his speech, he expressed his thanks to the lecturers for their willingness to join as tutors. He also emphasized that this activity is a form of scientific service carried out voluntarily, with JPPM acting as a facilitator who provides a forum for activities, online media and implementation coordination.

Next, the committee explained the background and general description of the activity. The theme "Smart Gen Z" was chosen because students currently face various challenges in the digital era, such as the spread of hoaxes, online fraud, the rise of online loans and online gambling, as well as mental health problems. According to the committee, these challenges need to be answered through a cross-disciplinary approach. This activity involved 22 tutor lecturers from five scientific fields, namely Informatics, English, Economics, Accounting and Health. The tutors were paired into 11 pairs, and each pair presented one material for 60 minutes. In this format, the first speaker conveys the concept, the second speaker presents examples and case studies, then the session continues with practice or a quiz and questions and answers. The material prepared includes account security and awareness of digital fraud, critical literacy in dealing with hoaxes and deepfakes, strategies for independent English learning, risks of online loans and online gambling, personal financial management, adolescent mental health, as well as balanced nutrition and prevention of addictive substances. Apart from that, there is collaborative material regarding digital personal branding in two languages.

During the meeting, the committee also offered two alternative implementation options to the resource persons, namely a two-session scheme on 14 and 21 November 2026, or a three-session scheme on 14, 21 and 28 November 2026. Based on input from the resource persons, the forum agreed on implementation with a 3-session scheme. The input from the speakers will be the basis for the committee in determining the implementation scheme on October 23 2026.

The following discussion includes provisions for preparing material slides, technical implementation on the day of the activity, as well as the preparation schedule. Resource persons are asked to collect material slides and quiz questions no later than five days before the session, and attend the Zoom Meeting ten minutes before their turn to appear. The meeting closed with a question and answer session between the committee and the resource persons, regarding the mechanism for implementing training by tutors, creating pre and post-tests, the need for certificates for participants and tutors, as well as output from National Collaborative PkM activities.

Through this activity, JPPM hopes that collaboration between lecturers across universities and across disciplines can provide real benefits for students in improving digital, financial, language and health literacy.
