Serang, 23 May 2025 — The Directorate of Research and Community Service, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, officially determined the winners of the State Higher Education Operational Assistance Program for Fiscal Year 2025 through Decree Number 0419/C3/DT.05.00/2025 dated 22 May 2025. Of the tens of thousands of proposals submitted, two were members of the Research and Community Service Network (JPPM) elected: Dr. TbAiMunandar, S.Kom., M.T (Founder of JPPM and lecturer at the Informatics Study Program, Bhayangkara University, Jakarta Raya), and Co-Founder of JPPM, Dr. RinaOktaviyani, M.Pd, who is also a lecturer in the Mathematics Education Study Program, Serang Raya University.
TbAiMunandar succeeded in winning grant funding for the project "Integrated Telehealth System with Android-Based Smart Notifications for Remote Monitoring of Neonates." The consortium he leads—involving Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Bhayangkara University of Greater Jakarta, and Jakarta State University—adopted an iterative prototyping R&D model to develop a platform that connects vital sensors (body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate) to Android applications. Through a simple machine learning module, this system is able to detect neonatal health anomalies in real‑time and send automatic warnings to medical personnel and parents, with the aim of reducing infant mortality rates in remote areas .
In the education sector, JPPM Co-Founder Dr. RinaOktaviyani, M.Pd also made a brilliant achievement by winning a Regular Fundamental Research (PFR) grant for her work "Reducing Cognitive Load and Math Anxiety on Formal Limit Concepts Using an Adaptive Neurofeedback Model Based on EEG (Electroencephalogram)." This research integrates EEG signals to monitor students' cognitive load when learning the concept of limits, then provides adaptive feedback to reduce mathematical anxiety. By applying machine learning algorithms for EEG pattern classification, it is hoped that this model can increase the effectiveness of mathematics learning in higher education.
The success of these two proposals underscores JPPM's central role in facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration—from control engineering and AI to mathematics education—to address health and pedagogical challenges in Indonesia. Through KEMDIKTISAINTEK 2025 funds, the two research teams will enter the phase of advanced prototype development, field testing, and dissemination of results in the form of scientific publications and patent registration. This step also strengthens the bridge between the academic world and the needs of society in the field.
